Health and Safety Advisor

Purpose of the role

To assist the Health and Safety (H&S) Director in the day-to-day H&S duties across the company. Shadowing the current H&S Advisor on sites and conducting site safety inspections and incident investigations. You will work within a supportive learning environment ensuring your personal and professional development and opportunity to progress.

About the role

  • Coordination of day-to-day operations of the H&S administration
  • Assisting the H&S Director in implementing a newly established management system.
  • Ensure internal reporting are up to date with relevant information and within timescales.
  • Ensure H&S enquiries are quickly actioned.
  • Work as part of the H&S team to ensure effective implementation of objectives, targets, and performance measures.
  • Conducting daily site inspection & compiling reports via the Safety Culture software.
  • Any other authorised tasks/duties commensurate with the role.
  • Maintain own Continual Professional Development (CPD).

What we are looking for

Essential skills:

NEBOSH, NCRQ, NVQ or IOSH training.

CSCS Card.

Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

Construction industry experience.

Full driving Licence.

Able to organise and prioritise own workload and work autonomously.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Critical thinking skills.

Teamwork and collaboration skills.

Strong Work ethic.

Adaptable with the ability to use technology and train others in their use.

Desirable skills, qualifications, and training:

Experience in groundworks or utilities would be advantageous but not essential

Tech or Graduate member of IOSH

SVQ in Construction

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.

Salary: Dependant on experience plus benefits package including car allowance.

Schedule: Monday to Friday.

Location: Field Based – Scotland.
